This course provides a holistic, systems‑based exploration of metropolitan regions. You’ll learn how cities—though covering less than 3 % of land—are home to over 50 % of the global population and responsible for more than 70 % of emissions, yet they hold the key to sustainable solutions (wur.nl).
Through a dynamic matrix format, you select learning pathways aligned with your interests—whether urban planning, engineering, policy, design, or social science—to investigate metropolitan challenges and solutions.
